BONAWATT × Ray Tubes
For us, the vacuum tube is an integral part of an amplifier's design. We therefore develop our partnership with Ray Tubes both as an equipment manufacturer and as the brand's exclusive distributor in Poland. We fit our amplifiers with Ray Tubes selected to suit their circuits, combining our own engineering with tube selection dedicated to audio applications.
All BONAWATT tube amplifiers come fitted as standard with vacuum tubes from American brand Ray Tubes. We chose them in pursuit of excellent sound quality, stable operating parameters and reliability. Our collaboration goes beyond component selection to include distribution.
Ray Tubes officially announced the partnership in November 2025. Nelson Wu highlighted BONAWATT's design approach, its use of 6SL7 tubes and Triton's modular construction. An important part of the collaboration is the SELECT 6SL7, a signal tube listed by Ray Tubes as compatible with amplifiers including Triton and Tamesis. Link: Partnership announcement.
The Ray Tubes selection process includes burn-in, electrical measurements, microphonics testing and listening evaluation. According to the manufacturer, fewer than 5% of tubes produced meet its SELECT 6SL7 requirements. For us, consistency and matching the tube to the specific circuit are essential; for listeners, this offers a chance to experience a complete, tested combination. The BONAWATT Triton hybrid amplifier with SELECT 6SL7 tubes was demonstrated at Audio Video Show 2025, and our collaboration continued at HEM 2026 in Stockholm. As the Polish distributor, we also help customers choose suitable tubes for their equipment.
