3. Are Bonawatt amplifiers available immediately?

Yes. Most Bonawatt amplifiers are available from stock. For custom configurations or temporary stock shortages, orders are usually completed within 7 business days.

4. How are Bonawatt amplifiers shipped?

Each Bonawatt amplifier is carefully prepared and secured for transport. The units are packed in robust protective packaging designed to provide effective protection against mechanical damage. Due to their weight and value, amplifiers are shipped by courier on a half pallet. This provides significantly greater protection during transport than a standard courier shipment.

Before shipping, every amplifier undergoes a final quality inspection, ensuring that it arrives ready to connect and use.

5. Is the amplifier tested before shipping?

Yes. Every Bonawatt amplifier undergoes a final quality inspection and listening test before leaving our workshop. We check all functions, operating parameters and sound quality.

Each unit also undergoes testing on a dedicated vibration platform that simulates transport conditions. This allows us to verify the amplifier's resistance to shocks and vibrations that may occur during delivery.

As a result, every customer receives a fully tested amplifier that has been carefully prepared for transport and is ready to use.

6. Tube or hybrid amplifier? Which one should I choose?

A tube amplifier is an excellent choice for those looking for a highly musical presentation and the character traditionally associated with tube amplification. A hybrid amplifier may be a better fit when high power and compatibility with demanding loudspeakers are important alongside sound quality.

7. How long do vacuum tubes last?

Tube life depends on the type of tube and its operating conditions. Under typical conditions, tubes can last from several thousand to more than ten thousand hours.

8. How can I tell when the tubes need replacing?

Common signs of tube wear include reduced dynamics, loss of detail, increased noise and uneven operation between channels.

9. Is replacing the tubes complicated?

In most cases, replacing tubes is straightforward and does not require specialized tools. Always use tubes that are compatible with the amplifier and recommended by the manufacturer.

10. Are tube amplifiers maintenance free?

Modern tube amplifiers can be highly reliable when operated correctly. However, tubes are consumable components and periodic replacement is a natural part of owning a tube amplifier.

11. Is amplifier power the most important factor?

No. While power is important, current delivery, power supply quality, circuit design and compatibility with the loudspeakers are equally important. In practice, a well designed amplifier with moderate power can deliver better results than a more powerful amplifier with a less refined design.
