Tamesis Mk2 uses KT90 power tubes, a fully analogue audio signal path and an upgraded digital control system with a new display offering improved performance. The analogue section features even lower intrinsic noise than the Mk1 version.

The black tube amplifier combines minimalist design with the natural, spacious character associated with SE Ultralinear audio designs. PPB™ improves low frequency control while preserving an organic midrange, clear vocals and precise layering across the soundstage.

Product description

A Single Ended integrated tube amplifier mounted on vibration isolating spikes. It operates using BONAWATT’s proprietary Parabolic Power Bias™ topology, combining a tube analogue section with digital control of the operating point of the power tubes. The KT90 tubes operate in Class A and are continuously managed by discrete circuitry, ensuring optimal use of available power at any given moment.

The amplifier uses proprietary RZC transformers with cores made from Polish grain oriented electrical steel, CRGO, featuring enhanced magnetic permeability. The transformers are wound using CNC machinery to ensure consistent parameters from one unit to another.

The Tamesis Mk2 tube amplifier is designed for listeners who appreciate a delicate and refined presentation without excessive warmth or rounded edges. Thanks to PPB™, it maintains firm control over the bass, even when paired with demanding loudspeakers with a sensitivity above 85 dB / 1 W / 1 m. It is particularly well suited to acoustic music, vocals and electronic music.

All functions available through our RC 1 or RC 2 remote controls are fully mirrored by the multifunction control knob and button on the front panel, providing consistent and comprehensive control of the amplifier.

Built in comfort and safety functions include remote wake up from Standby mode, automatic bias control, staged power supply activation, a controlled tube warm up procedure and a tube cooling procedure after the amplifier is switched off. These features help protect the amplifier and minimize the risk of system damage, particularly when the amplifier is operated by less experienced listeners.

The result is a more organized and effortless presentation with improved instrument separation and more distinct decay of musical details, particularly in complex musical passages.
