Product description

The D/A converter module presented here was developed in close cooperation with MuzgAUDIO, the creator of the acclaimed Reference AUDIO DAC 01S. The design is based on a four layer gold plated PCB, ensuring excellent electrical conductivity and long term parameter stability. This is a solution typically found only in the highest class of audio equipment, here implemented as an interchangeable expansion card.

Installing the module in our hybrid amplifier or line preamplifier opens up virtually unlimited possibilities for shaping the sound.

With support for multiple external sources, including CD transports, SACD players (COAX, OPTICAL), streamers and computers (USB), as well as WIRELESS connectivity with the MBBR 1P card, a BAX™ enabled device becomes a versatile audio control centre, combining refined tube sound with modern digital precision.

Each digital input of our DAC features full galvanic isolation, effectively preventing noise and interference from external devices powered by switching power supplies from entering the signal path. This ensures signal purity and consistently high musicality, regardless of the quality of the source.

Configuration is intuitive and can be performed from the front panel of the device or using the RC 1 or RC 2 wireless remote control.

Once installed in a BAX™ enabled device, the expansion card is automatically recognized and the user menu is expanded with new options dedicated to its functionality, making installation simple and straightforward. In the case of the MBD 1S digital to analog converter, the following user settings are available:

► DSD digital filter selection (2 options)

► PCM digital filter selection (6 options)

► De emphasis filter selection for COAX / OPTICAL (6 options)

► DAC analogue section operating current selection with four predefined modes: REFERENCE / ANALYTICAL / TEXTURED / FLAT.

► Digital signal input selection: USB, COAX, OPTICAL
