Product description

The MBPH 1P phono preamplifier is based on four dual operational amplifiers, providing a total of eight independent stages in a fully balanced circuit. The first half is dedicated to MM (Moving Magnet) phono cartridges, while the second half is designed for MC (Moving Coil) cartridges. The circuit is implemented as a flexible, interchangeable BAX™ expansion card.

High End precision tailored to the phono cartridge. While competing phono preamplifiers are often limited to simple circuits with relatively low MC gain, typically around 60 dB, our solution offers more:

► For MC cartridges: two gain levels and 8 selectable load resistance settings

► For MM cartridges: two gain levels and 8 selectable capacitance settings.

The BAX™ card can be ordered together with the device at the time of purchase or installed by the user at a later stage, as the technology requires no service intervention. Mechanical installation is straightforward and can be completed quickly and easily by the user with the help of the instruction manual. The microprocessor system handles the remaining configuration automatically.

All selectable configurations are implemented using Japanese relays with silver plated contacts, ensuring precise signal path switching and reliable connections. The phono module settings can be selected through the user menu on the host device, such as Triton or Bythos, either from the front panel or via the RC 1 or RC 2 remote control. As with the MBD 1S DAC module, the host device menu is automatically reconfigured by the microprocessor system when the installed module is detected, displaying the new functions and additional menu levels with advanced configuration options.
